2009 JUNIOR BACH FESTIVAL Festival concerts in March
2009 were an exciting and inspiring display of talent in our young
students. The following pictures may
convey some of this excitement that we experience every year at Festival time.
We like woodwinds, and wish we had more. Eugene M. playing the Sonata in A Major.
One of five students 8 years old or less in the Festival, Kevin Z. plays the E Major Partita with breathtaking ease, accuracy and maturity.
Another young violinist, Tristan Y., age 10, plays from the Sonata in C Major.
St. John's Presbyterian Church has a wonderful old style organ, played confidently by Albert B.
We were so impressed with Sophia L.'s playing of the Piano Concerto in D Minor, that we helped assemble an ensemble to play with her.
Agata S. cut an elegant figure playing the demanding French Suite in C Minor.
We had some outstanding cellists, including Travis C. playing the Suite in D Minor.
With coolness, control and great skill, Eric T. played the intricate Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D Minor.
More about ensembles. Phil H. on bass, Oliver K., violin.
The Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 was very well received. Cellist Jessica B. and Audrey V. at the piano, who gave a masterful presentation of the difficult cadenza, much to the delight of the audience.
10 year old Leslie L. favors us with 3 "Little Preludes".
Many outstanding older violinists, like Timothy Y..
We always enjoy guitar transcriptions of Bach's works. Here Ben B. plays from the Sonata in A Minor.
The awards ceremony, with everybody getting a certificate at the end of the program, is something Junior Bach Officers especially enjoy. Certificates are being handed out by Amy Brodo, our Music Director.
If you get a certificate from Junior Bach, you know you're good!
